Rudolph Day challenge February 2016

Well here we are again another month and it is back to ScrappyMo's for another RD challenge, and I believe she is introducing some new DT members.
A few photo's mostly of one's that didn't turn out as planned

Started off with this - didn't like it, shouldn't have cropped the branch of holly.
Not placed right either

Then tried this, didn't like it, wrong colours for candle.
Then tried this, didn't like it, not deep enough colours
Then tried this, now getting somewhere.

Finally tried this ... yep I like it-
Hope you do too.
even though on the photo the right hand stripe doesn't look straight, it actually is.
I was determined to use this candle die again.

Happy Rudolph Day.

Allsorts challenge week 351 - Birthday wishes

Good morning, challenge week 351 and Kevin is the host this week and his theme is
Birthday Wishes.

Our Sponsors this week are Sizzex and this is the lovely prize on offer.

We also have another pair of tickets to
On to my card

I have used Penny Black Slapstick/cling - Bright Wishes.
Coloured with Promarkers and then covered with glossy accents.
Sorry can't remember who the papers are, but bought from Sam Taylors.

There were no flames on these candle and I thought it looked a tad strange so I put some on.
Happy Birthday die by Presscut, used quite often lately but I like it.
The image is a PB Stickeroo which I put onto acetate and cut round it.

Mmm, just had a thought, next year I have lots of the male species going 70 and I have just had the idea to use these candles and put on a sentiment something like...
Now you are 70, time to stop burning the candle at both ends!
What do you think?
Answers on a postcard please, no just a yea or nay in a comment will do.

Also if any of you who pass by to look at my blog and you are followers of the series,
Happy Valley
in last weeks episode a scene was taken at a Crematorium, well I was there last Tuesday and the week before and that is where I will end up when I leave this mortal toil, not for a bit yet, I hope.

Have a great week.

Allsorts week 349 - CAS

Saturday once again and I hope you have all had a good week.
It is the turn of Julie to set the challenge here at Allsorts and she has chose the theme of
CAS

and our Sponsors this week are DigiStamp Boutique.

and

Sizzix
with this lovely die.

I decided that I had no sympathy cards on hand and when you actually need them they are a very difficult and upsetting cards to have to make, so I thought this challenge of a CAS card would be ideal for this type of card as you really don't want anything fussy and fancy.

I kept it black and white.
Cuttlebug embossing folder
 Woodware sentiment stamp
Penny Black image from the clear stamp set Efflorescence

Drew a black line down with a ruler, well no, it was with a pen but using a ruler as well so it looked as though it went through the S. I made two.

It is only a couple of weeks since I made them and unfortunatly, I have now used both of these cards, so I have now made another 5, just hope that I am not tempting fate.

Please pop over to the challenge blog to see the great CAS cards by my other team mates

Thanks so much for popping by here.
